Legendary
Don McLean is one of America’s most iconic artists, first hitting the charts in 1971. Over his long and illustrious career, he garnered over 40 gold and platinum records worldwide. In 2004, he was inducted into the Songwriters’ Hall of Fame.
His songs have been recorded by many renowned artists, including Madonna with her No. 1 recording of “American Pie”, Josh Groban, and George Michael. At least four of his famous hits have each played over 3 million times on American radio.
The song “Killing Me Softly with His Song,” made famous by Roberta Flack’s and the Fugees’ renditions, was inspired by a Don McLean performance.
The internationally loved McLean has recently completed a tour of Europe, including at UK’s Glastonbury Festival, where an enthusiastic audience of over 100,000 sang along to his tunes.
Don McLean, still on his 2011 world tour, will make a stop at the Pasadena Civic to lend his talents in celebrating Supreme Master Television’s 5th anniversary.
The Don McLean Band
Don McLean will be accompanied by his band, four top musicians from Nashville: Tony Migliore on keyboards and piano, Ralph Childs on bass guitar, Jerry Kroon on drums, and Vip Vipperman on guitar.
